Japan: Prime Minister Kan to unveil new energy plan at G-8

DaliyYomiuri: In the wake of a crisis at the Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant, Prime Minister Kan will show Japan’s determination to become an international leader in the promotion of renewable energy, such as solar and wind, while reducing dependence on nuclear power, the sources said. Kan is expected to announce the plan at the opening of the summit scheduled to begin Thursday in Deauville France.
